Grade 8 student leaders did an excellent job of running our “We Scare Hunger” food drive.
The campaign ran over five days, from October 27 to 31, and brought in 725 food items that were donated to the local Rossland Food Bank. To help build enthusiasm, student leaders asked teachers to provide incentives for bringing in food by committing to doing silly and surprising things if a certain number of food items were collected. Most individual goals were reached and as a result, teachers will be honouring their commitments, including Ms. Lavender (Principal) allowing one student from each grade to throw a pie at her and Mr. Gregory (Vice-Principal) allowing students to dye his hair pink and blue!
